Gladys Brock was born on a winding road in British Columbia’s Kootenay region - a place of untamed beauty, good conversation and rare synchronicity. While driving to a weekend retreat with a dear friend, we spoke about a dream close to my heart: creating a skincare line built on intention - formulas I had long crafted for myself and those I love. I wanted to develop products that honoured clean, conscious living and the quiet elegance of natural beauty.
In my lap rested a vintage fur stole that I had just discovered at a small secondhand shop minutes earlier. As I traced the silk lining, I turned over one of its lapels and found the name Gladys Brock embroidered delicately inside. At that exact moment, a rockslide thundered down the mountain, narrowly missing our car and covering the road behind us. In that instant of awe and adrenaline, it felt as though the name, the vision and the path had all been granted.
